Here a short blog post just in case you didn’t know. Microsoft has created a virtual lab for SCOM 2012 it is called “System Center 2012 Operations Manager: Infrastructure and Application Performance Monitoring” . There you are able to explore Dashboards, Application Monitoring and Network Monitoring. The good point is you have access to more than several network devices which is hard to setup in your lab @home
Also you get the chance to setup APM without any hassle to get all pre-requisites fulfilled.
Although it seems just perfect but there are few points I am not so happy with. The performance of the virtual machines could be better, SCOM Beta is being used and I had difficulties setting up APM because of a console error. But besides that it is a good chance to get in touch with SCOM 2012!
Short introduction to the SCOM 2012 lab here.
And the SCOM 2012 lab itself and labs to other System Center 2012 products can be found here.
